Drs Daya and Chander Gupta donated $1 million to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind in Manitoba earlier this month. The CNIB renamed the CNIB Winnipeg Building as The Drs Daya and Chander Gupta Center and organised a dinner in their honour on July 3.
Over 550 guests attended the Toronto Netralaya Lions Club and Doctors Lions Club fundraising dinner September 14 in Mississauga, Ontario.
"When it comes to the Canadian matter, we have made clear that the allegations are extremely serious and they need to be taken seriously. We wanted to see the government of India cooperate with Canada in its investigation. Obviously, they have not chosen that path," State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller told reporters at his daily news conference.
